Erte and Mucha Inspired Drawings

These two drawings were made in Adobe Photoshop and were inspired by Art Deco and Art Nouveau artists Erte and Mucha. I used elements that they use in their work to give these drawings an elegant, vintage style. The color palettes use two or three colors in different shades to keep the composition cohesive.

For the first drawing, I took inspiration from Erte and Mucha to create the background. The circle behind the woman is a common theme in Mucha's paintings, as well as the ivy that I turned into a pattern. Erte's drawings had similar poses for his characters and usually included ornate dresses with a lot of movement. I also added the bouquet of flowers, drawn in the style of the flowers that Mucha paints.
The second drawing includes many of the same elements, such as the patterned dress, a circle behind the woman (in this case made of dots), intricate headdresses reminiscent of Erte's drawings, and lots of movement in the dress.
